It was a joyous outing for the children as they saw the vehicle come into their communities because they were missing the activities of the Clubs.
As in many other countries, the coronavirus pandemic has come to Nigeria and is affecting the people. It has affected the ability of families to access foodstuffs and other supplies they need to live a healthy life because of the lockdown which occurred in the State.
The effort of HVCF to establish healthy Girls’ Clubs and Peace Clubs was also affected by the need to take precautions because of the pandemic. However, realizing that the members of the clubs as well as their families would be adversely affected by the pandemic, the leaders of the Clubs, with aids from the Britain-Nigeria Educational Trust, was able to assist the children with supplies to mitigate the difficulties experienced by the families.
It was a joyous outing for the children as they saw the vehicle come into their communities because they were missing the activities of the Clubs which had enriched their understanding of themselves and their lives. However, a further lesson was being learned which was the generosity of people who have more is blessed by sharing with those who have less. Just as their joy was exuberant when they saw what they were given, so was their gratitude to the members of B-Net who supported the project.
